Summary0014032: Severe performance problem on documents with 8 linked frames
DescriptionScribus screen update rate is a catastroph when more than a couple of text frames are linked.

In uploaded screencast one can see typing appear on screen on a document where 8 text frames are linked. As you can see, It takes 21s to diplay 37 characters. It makes it a pain to work on such a document.

- there are no images at all in the document
- the text that fills these 8 linked text frames is 28200 character long. SLA is 116ko alltogether.
- the whole document is made of 8 pages each with one of the linked frames
- I deleted all defined styles and tested again : same result. The issue is with linked text frames.
- my computer has a 8 core CPU 2.2GHz, 16Go RAM
Additional InformationThis issue is not new. I've experienced this issue for years.

This new report is for small size documents but 0001036 is also related to linked text frame slow display, for very large number of frames (extremely large number since it uses a script to create a extremely large number of linked text frames document)

"This issue is not new. I've experienced this issue for years."

Then why are you reporting it? There are plenty of other bugs like this.

When looking for "linked", Mantis search shows 119 answer. I've carefully parsed these and could not find any report for this issue.

Closest i could find was :
- 0001036 severe performance issue with huge number of linked text frames
- 0012825 severe performance issue with layers, (with example given of a 2 layers 30 pages document without linked text frames)
