Quick workaround for that, simply create so many columns for the textframe that one columns spans only one character. |

Multi-column workaround is no good. Columns must flow from right to left (in Chinese and Korean and Japanese) and brackets and Japanese "long sound" character must be rotated. Punctuation needs to be correctly positioned. Care needs to be taken when a LTR (English) or RTL (Arabic) script is embedded within vertical text. Usually the letters need to be rotated.
Pango now has basic support for vertical text. (Pango 18) |
