Summary | 0003638: selection menus and tooltips appear behind windows |
---|
Description | Drop-down selection menus, such as the font selection menu in the Properties tool, appear *behind* their associated window, making them impossible to use. This does not occur with the font selection in the Style menu. It looks like these temporary windows are not being brought forward properly by the window manager. |
---|
Steps To Reproduce | Install scribus version 1.3.3.1-1 using fink unstable on OS X. Run it, create or open a document, drag out a text box, edit the text, go to the Properties tool and select the Text tab, try to select a font. If you're lucky, just the scrollbar of the selection menu will appear to the right of the tool. Using Expose to display all windows will allow you to see that it is in fact the font selection menu. Sometimes, not even the scrollbar appears, and using Expose to display all windows will show that it's completely hidden behind the Properties tool.
Hovering over buttons will either never display a tooltip, or if sufficiently near the edge of a window, will half-display underneath the window.

Additional Information | I tried changing window managers to twm, and it works fine! So this is some interaction between scribus and quartz-wm, the default window manager on OS X. |
