Summary0004921: Select all selects across all pages
DescriptionSelect all selects across all pages. It should only select all elements across a page.

I suggest Select All Objects in Document to be added to perform the old (current) behaviour.

Perhaps it would be better to have both options available (modifier key?).

I wonder what practical use we could make of this, really. It’s never a good idea to work blindly and selecting all objects on all pages is just that, right? Unless you want to perform a general delete, and for this there are other ways.

"Select All" should select all objects on one page, when no objets are selected.

This is different than selecting text across multiple pages.

Pursuing on christoph_s’ idea, if we want to distinguish between objects and add funtionalities to the "Select All", I would suggest to bring up a "Select" dialog and give some options, such as select (all) [Image Frames] [Text Frames] [Shapes] [Lines], etc. in order to let users perform a task on many items at a time, on an entire document (other than through stylesheets, for instance).

But I would leave the actual function its expected behaviour. We’re mixing up things now.
