loading into an image frame seems to be ok.

"directly" importing the file, only shows the "invisible" parts of the image

see the screenshot...

This is a special type of EPS generated from Photoshop and much of the content is not vector but bitmap and thus it needs to be imported into an image Frame

I exactly do this (import image in an image frame). But result is not correct because transparent areas are ignored. (Try with a black background).

In the extended image properties box, there are two possibilities :

1/ "Assistant d'exportation de tracé". If selected, image display is troncated.
2/ "N'utiliser aucun chemin". If selected, image display is correct but without transparent areas.

This image is effectly built with a specific fonction of Photoshop, may be not often used by Scribus users.

The reason for the bad display is that with this special kind of EPS Scribus reads the image data directly. But the clipping path is in the vector part of the EPS, which we can't get this way.
Workaround: Convert the EPS into a PDF with the ps2pdf tool from Ghostscript and import the PDF into an image frame.
