Summary | 0008664: Pimp my CalendarWizard
Description | Changelog: • Fix margins assignement bug • Add a Vertical Event Calendar mode, featuring week numbers • Remove duplicate weeks (stretching over two months), and add both month names with a separator customizable from the GUI • Create a master page for weekdays (classic and vertical event) • Auto-generate different paragraph styles for better customizability • Some more code reorganisation and rewrite Note that the script now uses some features from the python calendar module only available in python versions >= 2.5, so it wouldn't work with eg Scribus 1.3.3.* for Windows with embedded python < 2.5

CalendarWizard.py (27,539 bytes)
# -*- coding: utf-8 -*- """ This is a simple 'Calendar creation wizard' for Scribus. It's a fully rewritten Calender.py from Scribus examples. Enjoy. DESCRIPTION & USAGE: This script needs Tkinter. It will create a GUI with available options for easy calendar page creation. You'll get new pages with calendar tables into a new document you are asked for. Position of the objects in page is calculated with the "golden-ratio" aspect from the page margins. Steps to create: 1) Fill requested values in the Calendar dialog 2) You will be prompted for new document 3) You will be prompted for new paragraph style which will be used in calendar text frames. It could be changed later. There are 2 types of calendar supported: 1) Classic calendar with one month matrix per page. I suggest here PORTRAIT orientation. 2) Horizontal event calendar with one week per page with huge place for human inputs. There should be LANDSCAPE imho. 3) Horizontal event calendar with one week per page with huge place for human inputs. There should be LANDSCAPE imho. But everything works with both orientations well of course too. I forgot one Changelog item: • Add Austrian German localization. (Note: that's almost identical to German, but January = Jänner, February = Feber) |

Bernhard, I do apologise for long delay. Now I'm testing it, but I'm not sure if is all correct on my side. Please look at the attached Picture1.png image. The brand new event calendar seems incomplete for me. Or is it just a musunderstanding? Can you explaint its design to me, please? |

Actually that's the way I think it should look like (maybe apart from the weekday alignment). The script doesn't add much layout, as this can be done from the master page anyway. See http://www.unet.univie.ac.at/~a0108192/wordpress/en/katalog/gebrauchsgrafik/kalender/ for what the final result can look like. BTW, I noticed that someone on the list said he had customized the wizard script to import ical files, and I tried to reach the person to suggest a merge of our modifications, but unfortunately I got no reply from him (apparently due to a very picky mailserver): http://lists.scribus.info/pipermail/scribus/2010-January/036637.html |

ok, thanks for explanation. It's in 1.3.x branch and trunk. I'll left 1.3.3.x (stable) branch untouched just for Python version bump requirement (and for feature "freeze"). Thanks a lot. |
|
1.3.3.x is no more, 1.3.3.14 has been tagged, no more releases planned. |
