Product Version | 1.4.1 | ||||
Summary | 0011180: Scribus crashes everytime I want to import an image
Description | This bug exists in all versions I tried since it has begun : 1.4.0 , 1.4.1 and 1.5.0 I made the choice to keep using the 1.4.1 version known as the stablest on. Everytime I want to import an image in an image frame, Scribus crashes due to signal 6. I wonder if there is a conflict between ubuntu 12.04 and Scribus... But I don't understand WHY it had worked until 2 days ago! I need an answer - a solution if there is one... - quite quickly because the dead line of the project I'm working is this evening... It upsets me a lot to think that I should work on Scribus running on Windows...! Thanks for your help!

Can you open the image with an image viewer/editor? If so, do you see an error message? Maybe the image file is damaged. To allow the gurus some insight as to how the crash occurs, it would help if you could upload the image here. |
|
Yes, I can open it with GIMP, or libreoffice. This bug does not concern only one image, but every image I want to import, even those I used before with Scribus... I tried to put them in another file, thinking that there was a problem of path, but it doesn't change anything... |
|
Tell me if you don't understand what I mean... I'm French, which can explain that my English's not understandable... |
|
can you share the image? accents in the path? in the name of the file? |

There you are, but I've explained before, that I have the same problem with every images I want to import. As soon as I click to select one image, Scribus crashes. |

This issue may be related to a known Ubuntu 12.04 issue with qt-at-spi package. See : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scribus/+bug/973332 Removing that package seems to solve the issue. |

I've done it and... IT WORKS :D Thanks a lot!! |
|
Cool! I'm closing this issue as the fix affect code beyond our control. |
