|Platform||Mac||OS||OS X||OS Version||10.6.8|
|Fixed in Version||1.4.3.svn|
|Summary||0011388: Unselected frame outline no longer visible after upgrade to 1.4.2|
|Description||After recently upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2 (on OS X) I've noticed that the outlines of unselected text, table, and image frames are no longer visible.|
None of: "View -> Show Frames", "File -> Document Setup -> Display", or "Scribus -> Preferences -> Display" make a difference.
Preview mode is switched off.
The colour for unselected frame outlines is set to black (on a white page background). Changing the colour also makes no difference.
|Steps To Reproduce||1. Create new document.|
2. Insert text frame.
3. De-select text frame.

I can see the outlined frame in the uploaded doc here. Its of the same grey color as the grid.
||I can see the frame outlines too..|
I've just added a snapshot so you can see the issue from my perspective.
Two text frames (right-hand one is a duplicate of the left-hand one).
Image frame below the text frames.
As you can see, the text frame on the left isn't showing its outline and neither if the image frame.
(Hopefully this is just a local settings issue.)
||I've just noticed that the same problem occurs on the border of PDF text fields too. Whatever settings I use the field shows no border, even when the document has been exported as a PDF.|
||I am also seeing this issue in the same setup (upgrade to 1.4.2 on OSX). All of the appropriate 'view' options are checked.|
||works ok with qt arthur as renderer|
|I can confirm this with Cairo 1.10.2. Testing to see if this is a regression from 1.4.1.|
I don't know if this helps any but I've just tried to create a simple PDF form with an input field and a submit button.
The field and button, when unselected, in Scribus, do not show an outline as mentioned above. Also, when the PDF is created and then viewed in Preview the field and button still do not show an outline (also mentioned above).
However, when the same PDF is displayed in Acrobat Reader 9.5.3 (current latest version) the outlines display as expected.
But, the Skim PDF Viewer (1.4.2, current latest version) doesn't display the outlines (same as Preview).
So, to recap, Acrobat Reader displays the outlines fine but Scribus, Preview and Skim don't.
I just thought I'd mention this, I hope it doesn't lead someone "down the garden path" but it could alternatively give them a spark of inspiration.
(I'll attach the file "Check PDF Fields.pdf" as an example.)
