Summary0011572: Explanation when double click on an image does nothing
DescriptionSometime double click does nothing on an image frame.
I expect it to enter "image edit" mode, which enables to move the image inside the frame.

Even if i double the doubleclick, or triple or n-tuple it.

Then after breathing i realize that the image is "automatic zoom to fill frame".

Could Scribus popup an "excuse me i cant do this because image is set to automatic resize to frame" explanation message ?

The 'popup police' wouldn't like this but I recognize that there something should be done in this situation. Don't know if a popup is the answer though.

How to give an explanation ?

When the explanation is given, there is no reason scribus should expect the user to acknowledge that he has read it. So a popup is overkill anyway.

Instead of a popup, the statusbar could display the explanation. But that's not where the user expects some explanation, unless scribus does it for many more messages.

As far as i can see, It could be a temporary hint bubble whose display would be forced when user requests such an unpossible action.

a temporary hint bubble on the frame would be fine :-)

i think that this is something scribus could use often to send messages to the user...

... the default place for such a bubble could be on the right of the highest visible point of the item concerned by the bubble (if possible outside of it, if there is not place there, inside)

i like the idea.

multiple bubbles would be stacked (as the messages we see on most OS / window managers) and there should be a way to see the last few messages... if we missed something that we now think could have been important.

who does want to write a feature request for the bubbles? :-)
