|Summary||0012598: [Proposal] Temporary (stackable) hint bubbles instead of unpopular popup dialogs|
|Description||There are numerous bug reports that are in a stalemate because there is no practical way to address user notification. It comes down to using a dialog box or designing the PP in such a way that it would be intuitive enough for the user to understand. |
The popup approach is not a popular for obvious reasons.
The UI approach is lacking because there is much to fix and not enough devs to meet the demand.
Either solution is lacking...unless we use a temporary hint bubble!
This is something Scribus could use often to send messages to the user...
A default place for such a bubble could be on the right of the highest visible point of the item concerned by the bubble (if possible outside of it, if there is not place there, inside)
Multiple bubbles could be stacked (as the messages we see on most OS / window managers) and there should be a way to see the last few messages... if we missed something that we now think could have been important.
