Summary | 0013094: Export as image produces bad quality
Description | Using "export as image" with a scribus page containing pdf images does produce much worse results than exporting the same page as pdf and using gs as rip (with same settings of course).
Steps To Reproduce | Create a new scribus document insert an image frame and load a pdf file (e.g. text with vector fonts) export the scribus document as image (e.g. lossless png, 600dpi) view the result in gimp -> the quality is not as expected for 600dpi
Additional Information | I have uploaded a zip with two files: one exported as png from scribus as descriped above. The other one exported from scribus as pdf and afterwards converted to png with ghostscript (also 600 dpi). The uploaded Files are just small parts of the whole page. Same effect in version 1.5.1svn.

It seems that each pdf is rastered with 72dpi first and afterwards the complete page is resampled with the resolution given in the "export as image" dialog. But then the quality of pdfs is already poor. |

Unfortunately this bug isnt fixed in 1.4.6. I uploaded new examples (testimages.zip) which shows that scribus text frames are rendered correctly (better quality with higher dpi) while the pdf-frame in the same document does have the same poor quality (72 dpi) every time. for comparison the same cutout with ghostscript as rip. Bug occurs also in scribus 1.5 with linux and windows |

I hoped that resolving issue 14675 which seems to address a similar problem would fix this issue too. But unfortunately version 1.5.3svn Revision 21822 still has poor quality when exporting pdf frames to raster images with high dpi. |
