Summary | 0013372: Text overwrites in frames
Description | The attached SLA creates several sequences of text box with <title><tab><author> image box with <cartoon> In some of them, the title and author text overwrite. When I look at the SLA, the bad ones have an extra <tab/>. How can a single tab at the end of a block of text cause text to overwrite?
Steps To Reproduce | This is reproducible in Scribus 1.4.4, 1.4.5 and 1.5.1.svn.
Additional Information | What is the proper way to make a line of text like "left part<tab>right part" so that all of the space is added at the <tab> to have the left part flushed left and the right part flushed left? I experimented with various alignments under Properties -> Text, but there did not seem to be one for this case. The "justify" required multiple <tabs> and "force justify" added space between the words, even if I used non-breaking spaces with control+shift+U 00a0.

I attached a screen capture. The difference between the good text and the bad text is only one tab. |

William, thanks for the report. I see the issue in the .sla you've uploaded. |
|
Kunda, thanks for looking at it. Now that you have seen what happens, is it a bug or a feature? If it is definitely a bug, I could try to make time to look at the code. If it is only a misunderstanding about how tabs work and a setting or style in the document is incorrect, I can pass that along to the person who made the document. |
|
i have not the correct fonts installed and after the automatic fonts replacement, i think that i don't see the problem... could it be a font problem? |
|
I confirm that this is a bad bug. AMOF its a dupe of 0011071 so i closed it. It'd be great to fix this. I marked this issue with the 'layout' tag. FYI there are other bad 'layout' tag issues : http://bugs.scribus.net/search.php?project_id=1&tag_string=layout |
