Summary | 0014563: Aspect distorted in certain imported EMF graphics
Description | When some .emf (Enhanced Windows Metafile) graphics (apparently only ones with text) are imported, the aspect ratio is significantly distorted (in my case, by 4%-5%). The user has no indication, aside from the visual distortion (which is still small enough that it's not obvious), that the import didn't work correctly. I would actually consider this a "moderate" severity bug, since one generally assumes that imported objects are relatively faithful reproductions of the originals, if there are no error messages or obvious visual problems.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Open Scribus 2. Create a new document with default settings 3. Click File->Import->Get Vector File... 4. Select "import_graphic.emf" (square with text below it, attached) and click OK 5. Click anywhere in the document to place the graphic 6. Use Ctrl+Shift+G to ungroup the shape and the text 7. Shift-click the text so that only the shape remains selected 8. Look at the Width and Height properties of the shape in the properties toolbar; note that they differ significantly from each other, whereas they should be the same
Additional Information | I created the test graphic in PowerPoint. It's a 5x5 cm shape with no borders, with some text 1 cm below it. I grouped the two objects, right clicked on the group, clicked "Save as Picture...", and saved the graphic in Enhanced Windows Metafile format. If you open the file in Paint, you can easily confirm that the shape is a square. Alternatively, you can very quickly create such a graphic yourself.
