Product Version1.5.3.svn
Summary0014758: Replicate the multiple file selection of the bitmap import dialogue for vector and layout files
Description1.5.x provides a welcome feature extension to the bitmap image import by allowing the selection of multiple images in the file selector while pressing the CTRL key.

A similar feature for the Context Menu > Paste File, including the preview-mouse-pointer would be a natural and consistent equivalent.

removing that "paste file" might also be an option.

this is part of no workflow (you can only import vector files but no bitmaps nor texts).
you also have to right click on the desktop, which in many contexts is a "hard thing" (since most of the area is already covered).

it would be nice if similar tasks would have similar UIs.

all in all, it would be much more important to allow importing vectors through a shortcut rather than improve (or even keep) this context menu entry.

as an example, when nothing is selected, ctrl-i could import anything and scribus would correctly place the file (in a newly created image frame, in the clicked image frame, in a newly created text frame, in the clicked text frame or as a "free floating" vector).

p.s.: heavily cleaning up (slimming) the context menu and then adding the same importing option at the root also for all types of frames might also be ok...
