Product Version | 1.5.6.svn
Summary | 0016227: Scrolling zoomed out is unbearably slow
Description | Hi I just upgraded to Fedora 32, which for some reason ship with the beta version 1.5.6svn and it does just not work. I import a text into a document and then zoom out three clicks to scroll down to figure out how many pages that became and delete the rest, but the scrolling is so slow it's totally unbearable! Really, the program is totally useless! It was not like this in 1.4.6 which was shipped with Fedora 31.
Steps To Reproduce | Create a document, decently large with text frames. Import a text file, zoom out three clicks and then try to scroll down.
Additional Information | If you need additional info, please ask.

I tried on Windows with a 100 pages doc filled with text, cannot say that scrolling is unbearably slow or even slow. |
|
Huh, it could be some kind of linuxism then. |
|
Could this have anything to do with me using Intel integrated graphics? I've tried on multiple machines and it is indeed not usable in this state. |

>> Could this have anything to do with me using Intel integrated graphics? It might. Intel integrated graphics can be slow in various situations. You just have to search for "intel integrated graphics slow" on google to find lots of examples: - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/intel-hd-graphics-4000-driver-has-slow-performance/0bd9852c-3bbb-4d32-817d-0079b344d113 - https://hardcoregames.video.blog/2020/03/17/intel-graphics-slow/ - https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:v5u7lMokLZEJ:https://forum.manjaro.org/t/why-are-intel-graphics-running-like-slow-turtles/136260+&cd=11&hl=fr&ct=clnk - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000036462/graphics/graphics-for-5th-generation-intel-processors.html I have to acknowledge my laptop is rather a powerhorse and has an Nvidia RTX 2060 graphic card. |

Did 1.4.x -> to 1.5.x suddenly use way more power from the machine? It was rather speedy before. I was tempted to go out and buy a new machine... |
|
I reinstalled a computer and got 1.4.6 working. It's amazingly fast! I don't know what was changed, but I suggest it get some attention, because without a really powerful computer, 1.6.x risk being terrible of the trend continues... |
