Summary0016326: Dragging multiple PDF files onto a scribus document
DescriptionIf I take one PDF file at a time and drag it onto a scribus document, I can see that its displayed on the page.

If I select 2 or more PDF files and try to drag them onto the document, it simply displays the pdf file names on top of each other, and what appears to be some very tiny box.

(happens on both osx and windows).

I think it should either allow you to drag multiple PDF files at a time and place them onto the page, or simply load the first PDF file and warn the user that only one file at a time is supported.

If allowing multiple files, it should deal with each file independently until all files are eventually loaded.

That means you do not have GhostScript available on your computer.

jean, the issue i see:

- if i drag one pdf i get it imported as vector
- if i drag two pdfs the will be imported as bitmap

and, of course, the reason why digirew sees the names only is because of the missing gs. but -- imo -- that's not the issue here.

@ale, yes this is how it is because importing several vector files at once is *not supported* at this time.

ok thanks I will look into installing GS on my machine and try again.

as @ale pointed out, if multiple pdfs are imported as bitmap, then it would not help me any further along even with GS, as I would need them to be as vectors.

Perhaps this ticket should be converted or a new one created as a feature request to support importing multiple vector files?

imo, this ticket is fine.

if scribus imports single files as vectors, importing a multiple files as bitmap is a bug.
a "known" bug, but still a bug.
