Duplicate of 0016479. Already fixed in 1.5.7.

As you already have executed Scribus, a small change is also needed in preference file once you will have upgraded to 1.5.7. Locate the scribus150.rc file located in /home/your_username/.config/scribus, open it with a text editor and remove the "FontColorBackground" xml attribute... or just delete scribus150.rc file so that it is re-created.
