Summary0016756: multi page .pdf file in image frame – can't select the page any more
Descriptionwhen i place a multi page .pdf file in an image frame, scribus always displays the first page.
the only options of the page selector in the 'image properties' are 'auto' and '1'.
(tested with scribus 1.5.6.1, 1.5.7 and 1.5.8 → same result…)
it might be ghostscript related. i use ghostscript 9.55.0.
Steps To Reproducecreate an image frame.
double click it or press 'cmd' + 'I'.
select a multi page .pdf document.
try to change the displayed page → no chance!

No, it's podofo related. The podofo library is used to get the number of pages in a PDF document. Your build has likely not been compiled with podofo enabled. I do not see this issue here on WIndows.

"…Your build has likely not been compiled with podofo enabled."

well, then the versions 1.5.6.1, 1.5.7 and 1.5.8 for macOS in 'sourceforge.net/projects/scribus/files/scribus-devel/' must all be compiled without 'podofo'…
can i check this somehow?

If podofo was not available during compilation, the "Embed PDF (Experimental)" option in PDF export dialog would be either missing or always disabled.

this issue can be closed – sorry!
after checking the 'podofo' thing, i investigated some more.
the solution was to delete the 'scribus' folder in 'system' → 'preferences'. i don't know what was wrong, but it was something in this preferences folder…
