I can't reproduce in the LinuxMint 20.x and Scribus 1.5.9. Appimage from gitlab (https://gitlab.com/scribus/scribus16/-/jobs) Dark theme not work, but otherwise no problem. |

So it appears to be unique to Ubuntu 22.04. |

Scribus 1.7.0 with Qt 6.2.4 on Ubuntu 22.04.1 shows tooltips ok. |

I've downloaded the 1.5.9 appimage and this version fixes the tooltip problem. I have not found a 1.7.0 appimage to download. I'll continue testing the 1.5.9 release. |
