Summary0016942: Dodgy popup
DescriptionWhen I try to run Scribus I get a pop up that says
"There is a problem loading 1of 55 plug-ins.
#scriptplugin.dll
This is probably caused by some kind of dependency issue or old plug-ins
existing in your install directory. If you clean our your install directory and
this still occurs, please report it on bugs.scribus.net."

Steps To ReproduceHappens every time I run it.
Additional InformationI downloaded Scribus from the Windows store (yes I paid for it). I tried binning it and downloading a second time but got the same problem.

for support, please contact the company that sold you scribus : - )

(since you're stressing the fact that you paid for it...)

>> I downloaded Scribus from the Windows store

That version is not produced by Scribus team and hence not supported by Scribus team either. Moreover your screenshot shows you have downloaded an older version than the current stable version which is 1.4.8. You can download 1.4.8 here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/scribus/files/scribus/1.4.8/

Thank you very much. I am sorry I stressed the payment aspect. That was wrong of me. In my clumsy way I was trying to tell you about what the Windows store is sending out. It seems to me that either the store has been hacked (unlikely) or the download was intercepted and a non serviceable alternative substituted. If the Microsoft store provided a sha code this would not be a problem.

any person is allowed to sell the scribus code to any price people are ready to pay...
(using the scribus name might be an issue, but i would dare to say that there is much that can be done there)

and, as far as i know, microsoft refuses to remove such packages, except if there is an "official" scribus package in the store first.

all in all, i guess that if you're not happy with the packages provided by the microsoft store, you should complain with them... even if there are very few chances that they will listen to you.

Hi

Unfortunately, as Ale has said, some people are selling Scribus on the Windows Store and while we have complained, Microsoft has not removed the applications from the Store. I'd request a refund if I were you. You can download the last 1.4.x version, 1.4.8 or the latest development release, 1.5.8, at www.scribus.net (which will redirect you to sourceforge.net). We're planning on a release of 1.6.0 this quarter.

thanks
Craig
