Summary | 0017395: PDF/X-1a:2001 opens as all colors completely black
Description | I have a pdf document that contains a lot of colorful images. When I export it in Scribus with PDF/X-1a:2001 to convert the color space to CMYK I can open the document as a regular PDF without any issues in Adobe, in Browser etc., however if I then open this document in Scribus all the images are black and the file is unsuable. When I inquired about this issue in a different forum someone mentioned that he could save the PDF as PDF/X-1a:2001 and then open it in Scribus without issues. I am using version 1.6.1 which I can't even select as a version anymore so maybe that's the issue.
Steps To Reproduce | 1) Open a pdf with RGB color space in Scribus 2) Export the PDF as PDF/X-1a:2001 with color managment on so that all images are converted to CMYK color space. 3) Close the PDF and open the newly created PDF/X-1a:2001 version
Additional Information | I am aware that there are other methods to convert images from RGB to CMYK however I am on a work laptop with very, very restricted access to what I can and cannot use. I need a PDF X-4 with CMYK color space and layers to handover to a print shop, so my only option was to convert the PDF to PDF/X-1a:2001 to change the color space.

i guess that it would help, if you could upload a pdf file that can be used to reproduce the issue... |
|
I did not do that b/c the file is over the size limit, but here is half the page, the issue is the same. |
|
thanks. i can confirm that the in the import preview (and in firefox) the pdf has shiny colors and imported into scribus it's all nice black. |
|
and now i can confirm that jghali's change fixes the issue. i get the colors, now! the question is, how nb89 can get a patched version... for sure it won't make it in time, to his highly restricted laptop... |
