Summary | 0002496: Scribus crashes with Sig 11 after trying to import a Master Page from a different document
Description | This only happened with a specific document. I was able to select the file from which to import and to choose the specific "Master Page" from the drop down menu. But after clicking "Import" Scribus crashed. Interestingly when I tried to reproduce the error by creating a single page document with a Master Page and importing this Master Page into a new document, it did not work. I was not even able to select the document to import from. When the FileChooser dialog popped up I selected the file and then "Open", but nothing happened. The Edit Field right of "From Document:" in the "Import Master Page" dialog was empty. Entering the file name manually did not help either.
Steps To Reproduce | -Create document1 with a MasterPage -Create document2 and select Edit/Master Pages -Click on the the third button to open up the dialog "Import Master Page" -Select a file -Now two situations happened to me: a) In the ComboBox "Import Master Page" you can now select which Master Page to Import. But after clicking "Import" Scribus crashes. b) Scribus does not accept the file in the "From Document:" EditBox. So importing is not possible.
Additional Information | The file where I imported from when Scribus crashed was already involved in an earlier bug about a PDF exporting issue, but I'm not sure if that one is still online.

Your cvs is really 1st august? Please update to current |
|
I have now updated to "28 August". But that didn't help. Now I can't import any Master Pages at all. No matter what file I select Scribus does not accept it (as mentioned above.). Even the file that worked with the "1 August" Version does not work any more. |

without a doc, I cannot replcate it here |

I just uploaded a test-file. It contains nothing but a Master Page with some nonsense text in a textbox. If you now create a new blank document and try to import the Master Page from the uploaded document it does not work. But maybe it is important to mention that master_page.sla was always in a completely different directory than the working directory of Scribus. BTW: I have updated to 31. August. And nothing changed. |

Seems to be fixed now with the fix of 2216 |
