Summary | 0003287: Combine Arranges Pages & Edit Masters into a single Pages window.
Description | The Edit Masters window is useless, and it should be merged to the Arrange Pages under a new Pages window (taking over the old Arrange Pages). How it should work (look at the attached image for a visual mockup): -New, Duplicate, Open and Delete from Edit Masters can easily fit into Arrange pages. -Delete from Edit Masters could easily be removed and share GUI functionality with the Trashbin icon under Document Pages. -When editing Masters, other masters and document pages could be grayed out and the Master currently being edited could be highlighted as red to make it stand out. -Going into edit mode simply be a double-click on the master. -Goint out of edit masters mode would be, again, double-clicking another master page or document page.

While your suggestions do have much value, you shouldn't forget that tsoots is working on a new style dialog. IMHO, master pages need to be part of this dialog as well. Maybe it's only a matter of taste whether "Edit master pages" should be available twice or if this is likely to cause confusion. I have no answer to that question yet, but I think a decision has to be made before the release of 1.4. |

It's a little bit older bug, but I think some improvement of Arrange Pages dialog is necessary. I appended UI proposal. White rectangles have preview of pages. There is possible to put big cursor between and left/right border of pages, choose more than one page and drag and drop page directly. There is also one quite useful feature - each layer can have its own master page. Page Manager Dialog would replace Arrange Pages and would be placed in Page item in main menu. |
