Summary | 0003292: Objects with text flowing around their outlines affects text on other layers, too? | ||||

yep, this is the intended behaviour. |
Disagree. Layers should not interfere with each other at all apart from possibly hiding content from lower layers (except if we introduce adjustment layers in the future but thats a different thing). |
I don't agree, a layer should not interfere with others |
Piling in, it is not good behaviour IMO. |
I think the user should have the choice. I can think of situations where the current behaviour is quite useful, e g. if two layers carry two different texts that are expected to flow around a picture on a third layer. So, what would be needed is a way to control if and to which degree objects on one layer can affect others. |
Having the mentioned behaviour optional sounds like a good idea to me. I usually don't need it, but it MAY be useful in some cases, as Christoph here pointed out. Presently, that feature makes my life harder though. |

Had the chance to check out how Indesigen does this with layers, surprisingly it behaves as Scribus currently does. |
