Summary | 0004511: Text export: RTF
Description | Well, I know that the html export of texts are already asked (cf. 0002974 and 0001977). But I was wondering wether it would be possible to have something like a RTF export of a text frame. As HMTML export, RTF keep the changes which are made on a text: italics, bold, etc. (This functionnality is on QXP since v.3.3) At that time (even in 1.3.4cvs), the only way to export text is .txt format which make you loose all the "enrichissements". I don't want to create a debate about internet export, but, indeed, I think that Scribus would be very useful if we could export texts (which are made for paper layouts) outside of the layout. Html export is one way, RTF is another one (for instance, you make a copy/paste in an AJAX system like writely, and you can use it on internet). The other branch of my question is: with the new text engine, will Scribus now that a font called Italic is just the way of having some text in italic, no matter the font (I'm talking here about the export)?

"The other branch of my question is: with the new text engine, will Scribus now that a font called Italic is just the way of having some text in italic, no matter the font (I'm talking here about the export)?" I am afraid I do not follow you there. As for RTF, I know import is definitely on the roadmap and I cannot imagine it would be too difficult to export through a library. |
