| Summary | 0000578: one-click/keyboard for toggling off and on all dialogboxes+guides etc | ||||
| Description | soon my screen is full of dialogboxes: properties, page palette, colors, and the pages full of guidelines, frame guides, margin guides, etc. i want to click ONCE on some magic icon to hide everything, and once again to reveal everything. optional: pressing with alt button or something, i should hide everything except Properties. | ||||
| Additional Information | a setting in prefernces could even ask me, when i press the alt button, what *all* should be toggled on and off: 1) <list of palettes with check buttons> 2) <list of guides with check buttons> | ||||

| | F10 hides now all your open Palettes and when pressed again it restores them F11 hides now all visible Guides and when pressed again it restores them |
| | Feature+use needs further refinement: 1) when I press F10 to toggle off and then press it again to toggle on the palettes, they all stack up one on top of the other. so i have to move them away. they must remember their original positions. 2) i need a configure option, perhaps in preferences 'display' or preferences 'guides' or both by context. list of what to toggle off with F10 i) everything, or ii) everything except properties. F11: i) all guides + non-printing items or ii) keep margins. |
| | >1) when I press F10 to toggle off and then press it again to toggle on the >palettes, they all stack up one on top of the other. so i have to move them away. >they must remember their original positions. Under qt3.1.1 here they reopen just in their original postition. >2) i need a configure option, perhaps in preferences 'display' or preferences >'guides' or both by context. list of what to toggle off with F10 i) everything, >or ii) everything except properties. F11: i) all guides + non-printing items or >ii) keep margins. I don't think this is a good idea, in the moment only the items are restored that you have been switched on before hiding. |

This we think is a Qt 3.2.x 3.3.x issue, but needs more testing. We have seen this type of issue has been partially remedied in Qt 3.3.x. I does work properly with Qt 3.1.2 in my testing. |
| | The window stacking issue seems to be solved now in current CVS. Can we close this ? Thanks. |
|  | finally solved after upgrading to Qt-3.3.2 and KDE-3.2.3 |
|  | Now its really fixed :). Tested. |
