hi you should upload an example... basically, scribus can work with inkscape's SVGs... but it can't open every SVG... |
|
btw, you're on the saver side, if you get the files into scribus through the file > import > get vector file... |

I have sort of the same problem so I'll add my problem's details here. Using Win XP Pro SP3, Inkscape 0.48.1. Also tried Inkscape 0.48 and Gimp 2.6 and problem remains. Scribus crashes and sends my computer into reboot each time I try to import a SVG or EPS file. Tried both Inkscape's SVG and plain SVG. Tried EPS created by Inkscape and another Gimp. Scribus imports AI files all right though. I'm no developer but I hope this helps to put you on the right track. |

Hello and thanks! I think I found the solution, it was Inkscape that was saving the files in the proper format, but not putting the file extension on the file. So I manually put the file extensions (.eps, .ps, or .svg) and then Scribus was able to open them. In the end though, I won't be using Scribus for one simple reason, I thought I could use it to create rss feed newsletter (which I can't do in MS Publisher) and sicne I can't then it's not what I was really looking for in a publishing solution. Not bad though for a free pub offer! |

> Scribus crashes and sends my computer into reboot each time I try to import a SVG or EPS file. You have more problems with your machine or OS than any issue with Scribus. An app should not be able to do that. |
|
Closing as the issue is caused by Inkscape no putting extension in file name correctly. |
