Summary |
0001271: support RGB output with CMS (PDFs, inkjet printers, ps, probably more) |
|
Description |
Output with color management enabled (i.e. using profiles) only seems to produce CMYK colorspace results for anything that can go to a printer. Profiles are equally applicable to RGB-driver inkjets with variations in paper and inks. |
|
Steps To Reproduce |
Obtain RGB printer profile from e.g. www.epson.com ("1440 and 2880 ICC Profiles for ColorLife Paper"); generate a document with image, apply CM using above profile, print to postscript file. Embed the same profile in the image outside of scribus (e.g. with tifficc, same intent etc.). compare the results; the image with the embedded profile will work nicely in the printer, but not the Scribus output. |
|
Additional Information |
Sorry if I've missed some fundamental issue here other than the feature I want implemented. It appears that the correct RGB-RGB cmsTransform() calls are made for printing, but that the PS output has to take it into CMYK when CMS is enabled. Similarly the PDF export states clearly that 'printer' will output in CMYK, but 'Screen/Web' disables ICC profile selection.
