Description | GS 8.52+ now has the ps2write device which exports high level PS2 instead of rasterizing bits, including some support for masking and embedding fonts. For supporting PS2 printers, this might be a more optimal situation and reduce spool sizes dramatically. | ||||

As ps2write device cannot be detected as we do for over device, ps2write availibility is determined through gs version. Minimal gs version for ps2write to be used has been set to gs 8.53 |
